Be - With "Bee" Blind Hit - One of a Kind Letterpress Print
This product is sold out
Although the double print of this design is relatively subtle, the overall impact of the piece is pretty unique. The "be" image (what you can see printed on the page) was created by warping/shifting/twisting the words from the following quote:
“Wherever you are, be all there.” – Jim Elliott
But there's more to the design than meets the eye at first glance. Upon closer inspection, the viewer can see a "blind hit" (when the page is passed through the set up letterpress, but the press has not been inked up yet) of the "Bee" design from a few weeks earlier in the derby. The "Bee" image was created from the quote:
“Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.”
This print was one of those (in the words of Bob Ross) "happy little accidents". It was actually one of the "setup" prints that Tim used to verify that the print plate was in the proper position and was evenly laid out. There is something about the texture that the blind hit provides that elevates this design. The combination is one of a kind.
It was created by hand over the course of several weeks. We will never reproduce this design in this format. It is hand signed and includes a letterpressed certificate of authenticity.
